We don't claim to be general website designers, or database programmers. However, there are some specific services that we can provide, where we work with specialists in web design or programming.
Some clients have asked us to take large amounts of complex data and repackage it for the web so that it may be more easily interrogated and understood by users. If the information is confidential, it is housed on a secure server, and a restricted group of users is issued with login details.
The best example of this is where we were asked to map out the provision of education services across all 33 local authority areas in London. The information is plotted on an interactive map, and by clicking on the map, users can view pop-up charts and data on various learning providers.
This type of data mapping can be applied to any geographic area and any sector of activity - numbers of retail outlets, GP surgeries, areas of social deprivation - the list is endless.
We don't compete with database designers, but our level of expertise is such that we have been commissioned by small organisations to develop bespoke systems for storing information. We use Access because many of our clients already have this on their IT systems. We develop the database based on each client's needs and provide training to the staff who need to use it.
